The return of the Cingh

THE PRELUDE

The story of man’s journey has no beginning; I think one arbitrarily chooses the moment when one decides to look back and to look ahead. May be, I am conceited or just may be I am not choosing the moment rather the moment is choosing me. And I reckon the moment was when I came across this particular text from ‘The End of the Affair’ by Graham Greene that talks specifically about this predicament:  how do I begin?

And so I did.

THE ROAD AHEAD

How do you begin a journey of thousand miles? With a single step they say. But even the longest of journeys must begin from where you stand for Laozi says, ‘Action comes from stillness.’

But it is difficult to achieve Tao. I would love to manifest plainness, embrace simplicity, and fewer desires but Laozi lived in some century China and I live in present day Chandigarh, where finding the Tao is as simple as putting man in space, but walking the path is as difficult as bringing him back home safely.

PROBLEM SOLVED

Yes, I spent many a moon contemplating how should I begin, I had to write something thought-provoking, did it provoke your, the reader’s, thoughts? Well I hope it did and without further adieu, I am once again back to writing…
